Born In The Ghetto Poem

Born In The Ghetto Poem

A Poem by Daniel Soloye
"

Some that I wrote earlier in the year when I heard about the death of my classmate , This is more of a speech than a poem but Read and Enjoy :) and feed back PS this is not a racist poem at all

"
Blinded by the eyes of the concrete walls
Trapped!
Claustrophobia!
Walking down the cold hard streets , that have taken so many of our close friends and families
but yet we treasure our surrounding like prize jewels from an Amazon Goddess
So much that when souls step in to our circle , we square up with clutched fist of fury and artillery that only comes with verbal instruction leaflet and pressure from our fellow peers "Shoot that N***a , Kill Him"
WHY!
Even white people join in to find there inner "n***a"
A word which was previously used to segregate , hate and discriminate ,
is now being used to join races in segregation , hate and discrimination
WHY ARE WE TAKING 3 STEPS FORWARD AND 4 STEPS BACK!
The cries of why from the families of the lifeless body
Never spark a thought of remorse in the mind of the Killers and Drug Dealers
and the tears from the victim's families
don't Provoke a smart reaction in minds of "Real N****s"
Just more Needless Violence and Loss of life's
OVER WHAT!
Is being real ,taking other souls from the planet for pride or sparkling jewels
or is being real , having the abilities to resist temptations from Satan even if you are living in momentary hell
Just for the chance to reach an external bliss?
RIP NICK!

Hype. Hype. It doesnt get any worse than being killed by one of your very own. One who understands your daily struggles and knows what you are living.
We need more passionate writers to come out of the ghettos.
When you live the life of a low-income family, there usually is no money for the latest toys or video games...so imagination becomes the grandest toy.
Big DS...keep believing in yourself and go to college...become a person of inspiration. Neighborhood kids looked up to my friend when he got locked up for fighting, but he always said that someday he will be back to the ghetto and he will inspire and have the kids look up to him for a positive reason instead....and I BELIEVE HIM, he is a man of his word.

So use your proverbial "GAT", your pen and change perceptions of people in the ghetto as criminal minded and talented only in rap.
Poor people value Love....its the only thing thats of any worth so yeah, the kid from the ghetto will whip your a*s if you take his girl. Its all he has. Until he gets out and discovers the world.
Hit me up anytime, about anything.

I believe its sad that there is violence in the ghettos. I wish people could do something about the violence.
Good write.

I cannot fathom how this would feel but through this stunning and heart wrenching write, you have allowed that, to a degree! There is division in ALL people, this is striking and I applaud your honesty and emotion here, I am speechless!

Well-written and powerfully put. I like the "...prize jewels form an Amazon Goddess" and the "...even if you are living in momentary hell."
