The Spirit's Battlefield

A poem about overcoming what always ends up being our greatest enemy, ourselves. An inspiration to overcoming our inner demons. Reprinted from my poetry book, Song Of Ascension.

The Spirit's Battlefield

On the battlefield on which the sun never glows

In the battle in which no blood ever flows

Man with his greatest enemy comes to blows

Man's greatest battles rage on in his mind

These battles can free man or to slavery bind

Man's greatest enemy his own demons he finds

Our own demons the greatest enemy we can ever fight

To defeat these demons takes great spiritual might

By defeating these demons is how we make life ours by right

The demonic tyrants are triumphantly taken down

By the mighty blow delivered without a sound

The blow given when the warrior's spirit is found.
