The Heartbroken Dam

The Heartbroken Dam

A Poem by DarkHunter
"

From past experience and seeing it happen again and again with friends.

"
The dam was well-built
The walls they held strong
The water never spilt
And it's held for so long

Through thick and thin
He's never backed down
But an attack from within
And he started to drown

It took countless words
To break up his heart
Yet it took just one sight
To tear his world apart

Someone else now stood with her
But he just can't understand
How he is better than they were
How he was the better man

All the times they've spent together
All those memories they've made
All he has left is a broken tether
All his joyful memories will fade

He could not fight nor plea
Forever his heart will ache
Who knew that jealousy
Could hurt more than heartbreak?
