Wonderland

"

The World is a Wonderland

"
Alice was lost in Wonderland.
The alien world was spinning around her and she had no idea what to do.
The Cheshire cat was of no help, It just smiled lazily at her; almost hypnotically, reminding her that she herself would have to get on her feet.

Oh! Why did she have to follow that darned rabbit? It was all his fault that Alice was stuck here. Had he not lured her here, she still would have been lying peacefully in the lush green meadow.

No; she must not blame others for her own fault. After all,it was she who gave in to her own curiosity and tread on the heels of the strangely well dressed rabbit into the hole.
Cursing her inquisitiveness, Alice stood up and started walking. She had no destination,no one to lead her, nothing but her own presence of mind.
She walked around aimlessly,  searching for her purpose in this strange albeit wonderful world. She was the only one who could save herself.
After all Alice was no longer a twelve year old girl who would lose herself in her favourite novel.
Even after residing in this world for twenty three years, Alice often lost herself.
Reality was just as bizarre as  Wonderland, complete with it's own debonair rabbits, mocking cats and wise caterpillars. In fact, it was even stranger.

All Alice has to do is stand right back up and march forward and try to find and fulfill the purpose she has been given in this familiar yet unfamiliar world.

This is such top-notch writing, I'm wondering why I haven't paid more attention to you. Sorry I've been sketchy at the cafe this winter. When I started reading this, I thought for sure that it was leading up to some funny or spoof-like ending. Your writing felt joking & clever. That's why it kinda surprised me when this lead gradually into more of a deep philosophical analogy, quite deep & meaningful & earnest. The last 2 things I've read from you just now have had this same quality of imparting something damn-near spiritual, but cloaked in a fun intriguing parable. Your way of imparting a message is so profound, I haven't taken time to just revel in your fresh word crafting (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Your reviews really made my day! :)
I love the turn at the middle of poem. It demonstrates maturity that foreshadows her being trapped in the fantasy world and the dark tone of the poem.

Thank you so much for your review!!
A wonderful idea to explore the magic of Alice.. to imagine Self in a place where anything can happen.. mostly in your mind with touchest of heart feelings. Charming language, acceptable use of the original. You certainly have a skill with words, DarkMist. Welcome to an incredible space.. will watch how you fill it!

Thank you so much for your review :)
Sometimes a muse may take a swig
of notions wild and strong
Then stir the pot with what is not
believable nor wrong.

Midst all these jumbled thoughts astray
where logic takes a leap.
We watch the winds carouse and play
With no defense to keep.

The search for answers turns each thought,
into a wild-eyed why.
To pique the interest of the flock
and stir up yester's cry

From nowhere Alice lunges on the scene
as Darkmist rambles out with something keen.
