Bodies Everywhere

Bodies Everywhere

Chapter Two: Bodies Everywhere

I sit there. Alone. Warm because of that stupid sun hitting my pale skin. My black hair slightly moves at the nice breeze going through the graveyard like souls searching for peace.

It’s been a year. A year since my rose was taken from my life. My beautiful rose that I will always love.

I sing out.

Roses in her hair

That are red and stuck in

The yellow tangled of beauty

I love her

Skin rarely touched by sun

Pale yet warm and oh so smooth

I love her

Hazel pool of endless emotions

Feeling leak into the world

Those eyes that just pierce by soul

I love her

Time stopping smile

That lite up my sad life

I love her

I love her…

I stop as a girl stand in front of me. She stares at me.

“Umm, is there a reason for you staring at me?”

A big smile hits her face and she jumps around, giving off small girlish screams, “You can see me?”

“Of course, I can see you acting like a fool.”

She smiles at me, “Sorry, you are the first to see me.”

“What do you mean?”

“Well I’m sort of ghost or spirit.” She shyly looks down at the ground.

“Oh, makes sense then.”

“How? No human has seen me before.” She stares at me like I’m the greatest thing since sliced bread. Sliced bread wasn’t that impressive and neither was I.

“That’s because I’m not a human.” I start to walk off.

She follows, “what are you?”

“I’m a reaper. Well maybe, the only one of my kind.”

She stops, “are…are you here for me?”

“No. You are safe.”

“F**k…”

I turn around and look at her, “most people would be happy to be a ghost.”

“I don’t want to be stuck in this graveyard. I can’t leave here.”

“I can solve that, follow me.” I walk off.

She follows, curiously staring at me.

“Does it hurt being a reaper?”

“Only emotionally.” I walk up to the opening of the gate. The gate stands there in black casted iron. “Hold my hand and don’t let go till we are outside.”

She grabs my hand tight, “I forgot how it feels to hold something.”

I pull her out of the opening of the gate then let go out her hand a few steps out.

She stands there and looks around, “How did that work?”

“I don’t know. Just seemed like it would work. Now for some rules.”

“Rules? I’m a ghost, I don’t think you can boss me around.”

“Well I can’t. But I can reap you. Then you will be here forever.”

“Oh…” She looks away from me.

“Just follow these few things, and you have nothing to worry about, okay?” I look at her.

She looks up at me, “okay.”

“So, first off, no causing too much trouble. Second, don’t let you get caught on camera or seen by too many humans. And third, no making deals with demons.”

“And if I don’t do those, I’ll be safe.”

“Sure. Safe is a good way of putting it. At least safe from me.”

“Okay.” She looks around, “Now what? I don’t know what to do.”

“Go visit your love ones, stuff like that.” I start to walk off.

“But I have questions. Can you please help me?”

“I can’t.”

She frowns, “oh…okay.”

“Damn it. Okay. Take this.” I hand her a small white card with symbol on it. A skull, red in my own blood. “When you need me, look at the card and stare at it for a few moments then you will appear where I am. But don’t abuse it, because it only works three times.”

She runs over and hugs me, my first hug in a year, “Thank you.” She smiles and let’s go, I almost don’t want her too. “By the way, my name is Bree.”

“Nice to meet you, I’m…” I hesitate, forgetting my name, “I’m Michael.”

She walks off, singing a song

I’m a scarred and broken girl

I’m scared and all alone

All alone

In this endless fields of death

The bodies line up in remorse

And yet I’m still a

Scarred and broken girl

I’m scared and all alone

All alone

I walk around searching for a ghost

To tell me what to do

As I know I will be stuck

In this field of the dead

She walks off aimlessly looking for a direction.

A powerful chapter. I had to read a second time. I like the conversation and the description of the area. No weakness in the outstanding chapter.

Damn it man, here you go killing with all these questions again.
Okay here's a spot to review. 'I pulled her out of the opening of the gate and let go out her hand a steps out.' Did you mean of her hand instead of out her hand?

Bree... seems mysterious. Wonder if she will reappear soon.. However, this was another intriguing chapter. Maybe you can whip up a beat for the readers s that they can imagine hearing the songs they sing? I like how you incorporate the songs in the story. It makes it all the more enchanting, and provides more pieces to the puzzle.:3
