An oldie

Avert your eyes

From the darkness inside

Happiness fading away

Emptiness here to stay

Your soul can't survive

 

You hide yourself

Behind a wall of deceit

You live by a code

Of apathy and greed

I cant call that alive

 

Everything you touch

Crumbles and breaks

Everything you love

Dies away

Only hatred remains

 

You tell me

I could be a better man

When it is you

Who needs to improve

I see your plan

 

To corrupt my heart

Rewrite my beliefs

Tell me whats wrong

Has to be right

It wont stand

 

I'll cast you away

Forget your name

Repair the damage

Stop playing your game

Erase all the memories

 

But it will take

More than that

Surely it must

To take your love

And grind it to dust
