Insecure

Insecure

A Poem by Dark Tower

She says I deserve much better
For the light I've restored
But I won't be a light
If it's not you I'm shining for
There are so many more
You've said before
Won't give them thought
Though you implore
I still adore
You until I'm at Hades door
Or maybe Cupid is devil
Because love brings more hurt than war

I hate the way you talk like you don't think that you're perfect
If you're not perfection
You're its reflection
I still wish for your affection
And I still hear your voice like we're always on the phone
The first angel I've ever seen
Has forgotten she used to call heaven home
Has forgotten how beautiful she has always been
They might have stolen your halo
But I'll bring it back in a dream

I just want you to erase my fears
I just want you to love me by accident
And not because of the words on the piece of paper you hold near
I just want to believe you could hold me dear
I just want you to be tangible
And no longer a dream that can just disappear
You say my smile weird
But it's hard to smile when all you feel is fear
I know we wouldn't work but I still want your touch
And when you pushed me away
It hurt so much
Could have begged you stay
But I was acting okay and tough
So the light finally dimmed
And my hearts door was shut

I love the story in the poetry.
"I just want you to erase my fears
I just want you to love me by accident
And not because of the words on the piece of paper you hold near
I just want to believe you could hold me dear
I just want you to be tangible"
The above lines could stand alone. I believe we can twist-up the emotion of love. Thank you my friend for sharing the amazing poetry.
