MothMan

MothMan

A Story by Rev. Fr, S. D. Blankenship DDiv., PhD., MA.
"

Based on true evens from 1966 - 1967 in point pleasant West Virginia.

"

I see the piercing red eyes. The wingspan so long. I feel the pain from this creature and I began to shake and scream in fear. It's so very, very tall. and this sound is so loud. It's not my turn but I see death waiting at my door. The sound echoes across the town. Now I see, the creature as it takes off in flight. As Day forms from the night. Its left it calling, So many dead. 47 and counting in my head. It has been seen so many times now it back to take its mimes.

This creature is out there no one knows to were, how, or when. But, it is not the killer just the angel. It may look hellish but to understand, this creature is here to lend a hand. It feels us as one and it Knows what it has done. So many lives, so little time. It stays in this way not to move, its faster then a rocket. And it will live forever, for it lives none at all.

Haha~ A lot of folks think the mothman is a being of Chef Cornstalk who was killed by Confedert solder in 1776... who's dying words were: “I was the border man’s friend. Many times I have saved him and his people from harm. I never warred with you, but only to protect our wigwams and lands. I refused to join your paleface enemies with the red coats. I came to the fort as your friend and you murdered me. You have murdered by my side, my young son.... For this, may the curse of the Great Spirit rest upon this land. May it be blighted by nature. May it even be blighted in its hopes. May the strength of its peoples be paralyzed by the stain of our blood.” He was shot eight times before he fell to the floor. .

Sometimes things are not what they seem to be and many tend to be afraid of the unknown or aliens. Have you ever thought about why aliens are called 'aliens'? In fact, alien just is a posh word for stranger and often depicted as dark and not to be trusted just as human strangers.
Yes I believe there is life beyond the planet Earth...
No I do not think they are out to get us ...
Should we ever have the chance to have an encounter with an alien, we should be kind, like this creature seemed cruel, but was kind.
One note, you have written a prose poem instead of a poem, for it is too short to be a full story, but I have enjoyed it!

Scary story J.D. I remember seeing something about the Mothman but never actually read anything about it. If he's real, I certainly do hope he's here to lend a hand cause I wouldn't want to see anything like that fly at me in the middle of the night. Haha. Good job J.D.

I have heard about the mothman. I think you did a very good job at describing him and what you think it is. This was interesting to read. I liked it.

Very confusing. >< I'm not the type to get something the first time I read it. You used alot of comma's so you might want to edit it one more time. Not saying it sucks, cause it doesn't, but I am saying that to make it an easier read, you might want to edit one more time. 3rd time's a charm right? Very well written otherwise.

You have detailed a creature whom 'no one knows where, how or when', and with the bit of why we have a bit of enlightment as to why it's here, and 'it stays in this way not to move, its faster then a rocket. and it will live forever, for it lives none at all.' You've written a piece of work that depicts the mothman, excellently written!!

WHOA, never heard of it, say its based on true events? that's wicked. I loved the write it pulled me right in. You must tell me how you cam to have such a way with you words. I would love to know. It even scared me the way you talk about this beast. I bet if anyone would really read your work for what is is and not judge you over something
I bet then that you could be a great leader.
not say dictator just leader
