The Journey

I wrote this poem for my mother on her birthday a couple years ago. She and her friends really loved the message, so I thought I'd share it with you guys. :)

A deep inhale,

Your arms outstretched

as you salute the sun.

The journey seems so long,

but it's only just begun.

 

A step, a skip,

ever so quick,

feet pounding as you run

Sometimes it feels near over,

but your journey's just begun.

 

So when life seems too short, too fast,

too hard to last,

take a deep breath and face the sun.

It's not anywhere near over,

The journey's just begun.
