A Poem by Darlene Reilley
"

Reflections on 30

"

I sit here looking at the computer
WIth so much on my mind
Years have past and there isn't any time
To focus on what I want or what I need
It's all about the family.
I work all day and all night
And it's like there is no time for life
Ah, an adult I have become,
Reaching for my shoes instead of the sun.
Where did the little girl go?
She was so bright and her dreams so big.
They said she shouldn't give up without a fight,
But in the morning light,
It's hard to do what's right.

I like the idea of a modern free verse put together with your concept. Good one.

I do like this, it does have very effective flow. In particluar, I think 'Reaching for my shoes instead of the sun' is very powerful to me.

Like this, it deals with a feeling I think most of us will go through in our lives.

I like this a lot. I have to wonder if this is how my mom feels taking care of us kids before herself. I like this poems because it seems like your writing from what you've been feeling. Meaning is what makes a poem, story, song, or a script a good thing to read. Great job!

Yeah that sounds about right. To be young again. Good flow and well written. A true perspective on life and a great read.
