Somnus

Somnus

A Poem by Moving Mass
"

...Sleeping sand is always warm, especially after an uncontrolled nuclear reaction...

"
The mind won't keep
away the things that feed
the mental seed.

For, if it did,
my sleep has kept
these secrets soundly;
I'm just a kid,
but yet, I've never slept profoundly.

The light of day might keep the pleasing thoughts away,
but the dark of night will bring about a different light!

The things I know, the things I hide
will never go; they still reside
within my mind, within my heart.
This knowledge vast will tear apart
my skin.

These cracks are growing day by day,
but life is showing (as it may)
the things I've learned to love and hate:

The world of sleepers, I create.

The subconcious is the best inlet for inspiration; what we see as reality is the filtered version, distorted though our own duality. There's a sense within our sleep that we are not seperate, to the suffering of the world, to at least part of it's splendour. The 'different light' and the tearing of skin is quite a violent contrast. Mind-opening, and great rhythm.

What I think is...that the day contains your dreams? thoughts?...until night falls then the barrier the day has set up to contain those dreams and thoughts has dissappeared leaving whats been pent up to be set free and loose upon the subconsuious...but that's just my opinion.
