I just want to be Numb

I just want to be Numb

A Poem by David-Tyler

I'm hopeless, I'm hoping
I'm shattered, I'm coping
And I just want to be numb
Missing the sweet embrace of rum

Shivering, heart beating
Defeated, and dreaming
What should I have done differently
Just lay me down gently

I need healing, I need hope
Wanting to be bound by your rope
Already seduced by your laughter
Am I really falling for her

Complicated, I need simple
Rough life, so now I'm fragile
And I'm regretting my hopeless attitude
Feel so raw, I feel so nude

I'm hopeless, I'm hoping
I'm shattered, I'm coping
And I just want to be numb
Missing the sweet embrace of rum

You sacrifice meaning for rhyme. It's not a respectable trait in a "poet".
