Mildred Hendsender

Mildred Hendsender

A Poem by Dave Brown

Mildred Hensener

Suffered a rearender

And through her ragtop

The collision did sender

The air was light,

The day was bright

And on her rearend

She was to alight

She had flown quite astray

Landing in a field of hay

And she’d be there today

Had not a farmer come her way

He plucked her gently from the field

To him a most surprising yield

And when her bruises had all healed

He before her gently kneeled

His love for her he then revealed

In her joy she gaily squealed

To this man she'd gladly yield

Wedding bells all round peeled

While he tends the dairy herd

She’s become a computer nerd

Who’s shape has now been altered

Because they’re working on a third
