Arguing

Arguing

Arguing

I and my love walked a forest way

She typically arguing on this bright lovely day

An eagle swooped suddenly down from above

Snatching my argumentative, sweet turtle dove

It carried her to the top of tree tips so high

Yet, she continued to argue, up in the sky

Not a word edgewise could that Eagle say

So he returned her, and flew quickly away

We do have a way of getting that last word in, don't we? Much enjoyed, Dave!

not sure I should answer that
Very witty and funny and I enjoyed it immensely. It was a funny picture. I saw my brother and sister-in-law. It's constant, yet they've been together FOREVER. Me? I'm not really argumentative and I'm divorced. Less than two years after our divorce, he marries again and she is FOREVER nagging. Their marriage outlasted ours. Guess being argumentative is the glue?

Loved your poem.

This witty poem made me smile. I enjoyed how true this was without going overboard. Living with two other girls and being one myself, I know ho true this is; women tend to argue constantly. Very nicely written

reminds me of a comedian i saw recently...kind of a really weird, off beat kind of guy...had a great joke...said " i recently had my identity stolen, but don't worry they gave it right back"-

So true..............
I love it Dave. I like the symbolism if I'm reading it right. Arguments can soar up and up and fall flat on their backs. We can be victims or predators of them.

You inspired this. So you take the credit. Excellent allusions. You are welcome.
It's a funny, relatable poem. I love the flowing verse and natural imagery. I'm not going to say anything else for my own protection, but it's a good one. CD

This is mockingly funny without going into a tirade over it. Nicely understated. Since I come from a long line of argumentative women who seemingly emasculate their men on a regular basis, I understand your sentiments fully. Watching my five bitchy older sisters doom multiple marriages, I decided to NOT try marriage this go-round, since I'm in possession of those damn argumentative genes! *wink! wink!* I love how the eagle says, "f**k this!" Seems the eagle wasn't as patient as you when it comes to disagreements. This was funny to imagine. An eagle fed up with his noisy prey and returning it. A bit like a dissatisfied shopper ha ha.
