Hiding Sheep

Hiding Sheep

A Poem by Dave Brown

Given the responsibility

Of watching the sheep

It appears little Bo

Had lost them.

While it’s true she did look,

The sad story is

Sheep are too disinclined

To find their way home

And, whether little or not,

What I’ve heard,

It appears Bo’s on the hook

For a whole new herd

But a quite gorgeous Bo

Fluttered her big brown eyes

All flirtatious like

At Jack, of Christmas pie fame, Horner

Who just happened to be

In the, wherever it was, corner

With a plum on his thumb

And who had a potential surprise

For those sheep all white and dumb

Because, Jack had a sheepdog

Smart as a whip

And he didn’t have a girlfriend

Cuz Jack was a drip

So Bo, perhaps, I shouldn’t mention

Gave Jack, extra close attention

And regarding Bo’s reward

For Jack’s dog’s assistance

Jack offered no, not any

Sort of resistance

Jack’s since given up on plumbs

And is now

Hiding Bo’s sheep
