Throwing Towels

Throwing Towels

A Chapter by Dave Brown

clashing considerations

I thought I would stay with her

Until the very end

But when she lit her cigar

It just wasn’t the proper blend

Man-O-War was my label

But she preferred White Owl

To smoke a different brand

To me was truly foul

When I offered a Johnny Walker

She preferred a different brew

I’m not known as a squawker

But that simply wouldn’t do

Restaurant meals another area

Where we seemed to often differ

She would always order curry

Which offended my tender sniffer

Finally, there was the salad clash

For a Caesar, I would howl

But when she ordered Greek

I threw in the towel
