Tying Shoes

Tying Shoes

A Poem by Dave Brown
"

getting things done

"

Are you able to put your foot in a Fluevog

If you’ve overly indulged in eggnog

When co-ordination is something you lack

And you end up flat on your back

Falling down where wild creatures prowl

Where foul fowl screech their horrid howl

Where mad monkeys scream from tall trees

While being fretted by foraging fleas

To where topsoil roils in total turmoil

As spewing volcanoes burble and boil

And hot lava runs down your arm

While frying batteries on your fire alarm

There try to tie your laces in a neat knot

When your fingers are especially quite hot

And if that is a thing you are able to do

Try it again with the other shoe
