King Wenceslas

King Wenceslas

A Poem by Dave Brown

on a nervous pony

Good King Wenceslas arrived in town

Looking for a place to eat

He and his girlfriend were on his steed

And were looking for a more comphy seat

Tim Horton’s was open, take-out

Every other eatery was closed

The PO’d King, always lavishly served

Kingly struggled to remain composed

Take-out meant, from a tray

Extended six feet outward

And this, the Regal Monarch felt

Was absolutely, much too absurd

And reaching over from his pony

To take food from the tray

Was impossible because his pony

Kept nervously shying away

In frustration, suddenly he recalled

Something bout feathers or Macaroni

But that aside, he quickly purchased the franchise

Putting an end to the six foot baloney

He and his sweet lady, pon his mount

Then rode their fine animal inside

It is said, although the virus unfortunately got them both

When found, his pony no longer shied

I hope they survived the virus. It wasn’t a very wise thing to do. A greatly fun poem to read.
