From Canvas

From Canvas

A Poem by Dave Brown
"

speaking

"

Looking like it lives

From the colors it shares

A flat piece of canvas

That invites many stares

No noise, but it speaks

To the mind and the heart

Reflecting and embracing

The magic of painter’s art

A smile frozen, a blossom

A creek winding by

A bird on a wire

Lovers in fields where they lie

A butterfly’s many colors

In complete detail

Flowing from brush

To speak from flat canvas

In the loudest of hush

Yes, the art gallery experience! I love how you captured it. I would never have thought to write this piece, but many thanks thanks that you did.

Thankyou Pat
I tried painting that Mona Lisa smile many moons ago
Take care
Ah, an art lover who rhymes! Brilliant poem, Dave. Reminds me of some fine art I saw in a gallery this weekend. I think painters are poets with a steady hand and more colors.

Man... You really make me enjoy rhyming schemes in a way I haven't since I was a young lad.
I'm not even huge on most art, but just your passion in perspective alone is enough to make me look with a second eye.

All about the magic of paint
I think someone must BE a painter to delve into this medium the way you have here. This feels much deeper & more connected than what I feel when I'm writing ABOUT some art (that someone else created). I get the sensation that you are deeply "gone" when you delve into the idea of doing art/painting! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

It is usually when it is time to clean house or do dishes that I am 'gone'

Oh yes, artwork does speak to the viewer....and often it says different things to different people. The flow of your words and the rhyming is just wonderful. I wanted the poem to go on. Lydi**

My uncle is a painter and I'm so jealous. Watching imagination take on the vision and where it will finish. I've tried and its just not there but I can appreciate someone else's talent without being too salty! Nice work Dave!
