Imagination

Imagination

A Chapter by Dave Brown
"

dipping

"

When I dipped in my brush

I found the paint had gone hard

Once stretched canvas had sagged

All suffering from disregard

Imagination also missing

A steadily increasing fade

But then felt some returning

As I watched a growing grass blade

One of a billion

That just now caught my eye

Waving in a soft breeze

Beneath clear blue sky

Such an insignificant

But it brought me pure pleasure

Just that one in that huge field

But that one was, a treasure

One single grass blade can grow through cement. It's the little things in life that are the miraculous and the beautiful.

I wonder why do 'insignificant' stuffs create a ton of beautiful mess at the end... oh, just love this. I find myself in your shoes at many places here

Inspiration can come from the strangest places. Thank goodness for that. Blades of grass have inspired many a poem and yours has me smiling. Good day Dave. Hope all is OK with you.

Odd how our eye is caught by a chance view of something that causes inspiration. It might have been passed over a thousand times before, but when the right moment comes, we recognize it.

PS: Thanks for the pictures of your creations. Striking, all of them. What process do you use in making them?

This is awesome. You capture so much in the single growing blade of grass. Indeed, one needs but a tiny sliver to hope.

This one is a treasure!

All fine. I'm scribbling away :)
This is a mind-blowing poem. V1 is such an artful & imaginative way to describe how it feels to be sagging bagging & cragging. It's a fun contrast to read this poem that's high-pumped with creativity, yet moaning about missing creativity. I love how the storyline describes how I feel when I have absolutely NOTHING on my mind to write about, then I go outside into my garden & see some amazing little morsel that's been pumped out since I last looked & my mind goes lively again!
