Makin Pizza

Makin Pizza

A Chapter by Dave Brown
"

the ingredients

"

In spite of my carefully worded verbal appeal

My wife insisted that I make the next meal

So, you can imagine me being none-a-too-a-pleeza

With the sky fallin in while I was making us pizza

The whole mess fell straight into my dough

Starting with two skyscrapers, neither apropos

Then a busted Caddie still getting a tow

A two hump Camel from Saudi Wahoo

An aircraft carrier’s whole freekin crew

An overhead ramp with crazy’s all shopping

With nary-a-one vaguely thinking of stopping

A hairdresser so absorbed in permin day

Delivering delicate dye jobs, felt nary a sway

A grandstand filled with horse racing people

Loudly cheering as they chased round the steeple

A map showing a recent lost gold mine find

A crazy old woman lookin for her lost mind

An aquarium filled with crawling crustaceans

A resort of nudists proud of their aspirations

Then, quickly I ducked, yelling, “Oh holy shmuck!”

As I was nearly crushed by a flyin dump truck

Finally, with the situation all back in hand

I quickly responded to our hailing hunger demand

By adding atona mustard and as a footnote

The whole conglomeration went straight down our throat

What a pizza! You obviously didn’t follow a recipe of known...but instead you created this amazing monster, all the while dreaming about things in your mind as a poet would... and yet you were able to swallow it down!
Very funny as you usually are....well done Dave

Ha, I'm convinced that mustard makes almost anything edible

Very true, I like it better than ketchup....
that's a whole lot to swallow sir! ;) that's what happens when a poet is asked to conduct a recipe .. impossible ...i guess these might be hyperbole .. what was she thinking to ask such an active mind to cook anything .. your lives may depend on it :))))))))))))))))))))))))))) thanks for this light hearted read .. i think i'll take the attitude of the cook and let it all hang out today

thanks
always nice to meet someone else with a weird sense of humor
This pizza had the greatest of fillings and toppings. Today I learnt how to be anywhere but in the kitchen while I'm cooking. It's a great gift to be able to tune out in torture, which cooking actually feels like to me. Hahaha Loved it!

Every Friday sir, every Friday! Pizza is fixed. I prefer dying by pizza than by Ms.covid haha.
You have officially surpassed all your previous outlandish attempts to break thru the hilarity barrier. This one is more "out there" & funnier than ALL your other poems combined. This is the best demo of how that amazingly wild-a*s noggin of yours spits up the most unexpected s**t I ever fathomed. I'm really deep doggie-do-do jealous of this one, my friend (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

The poem I posted just now is a feeble attempt to emulate your feral imagination . . .
Now that was certainly a pizza to die for. Everything but the kitchen sink. I'll pass on the mustard if you don't mind. Now you do know these pizzas could be in demand. You could find yerself
with a business opportunity here:))

Just brilliant Dave. You can sure spin a poem.

You have a heck of a sense of humor, that I just realized reminds me a good amount of Shel Silverstein, But with such a unique rhythmic style... almost like a shanty?

ah, The Everything pizza...made enough of those in my day. Thirty years working in two different pizza parlors...but the crazy old woman kept sliding on the cheese right off of the pizza...she didn't die a happy death. Very clever pie here.
