Linda and Lanny

Linda and Lanny

A Chapter by Dave Brown

Linda and Lanny were lovers

They seemed to be never apart

But one day Linda met Luke

And broke poor Lanny’s heart

Luke left his girlfriend Laura

When he spied Linda’s sweet shape

From his relationship with Laura

Luke made the greatest escape

Linda and Luke lasted till Linda

Spotted the manly hunk of Leon

Linda dumped Luke, Laura’s ex’

Cuz for Linda, Leon brightly shone

Shortly thereafter loose-eyed Leon

Took Laura deep into his heart

And from a two-timin Linda

Leon did a quick-type depart

So terribly sad now was Linda

She threw herself at Lanny’s feet

But Lanny rejected her completely

In hopes this poem wouldn’t repeat

Oh what a tangled life we lead when we practice to deceive. I think Tennyson said it, but oh boy he was right. Once someone has played the dirty card on you, where does ttust go? Out the window :) A poem of the times Dave. Nothink lasts these daze.

Happy comes in pairs--take care
Once a cheater always a cheater. It would be nice to think people change but more often than not they don't.

Thank you for updating Paul Simon lyrics "Fifty Ways to Leave Your Lover" & putting that old relic to rest in favor of something more fresh & true-to-life. My oldest sister (82 to my 64) used to live on the tallest mountain between San Jose & Santa Cruz (called Loma Prieta) & it was very wild up there. She didn't even live in a dwelling, just camped out up there for 30 years with her horses & llamas. It's always good to have a sister like that becuz that way I'm not the most feral one in the family. Anyhow, this sister married a number of times & after a number of years, all these guys were living up on the mountain in this wild-a*s community, most of them taking other wives & all of them being copacetic with the ever-shifting love scenarios. I don't know why your poem reminds me of this (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
