The Lone Prairie

The Lone Prairie

A Chapter by Dave Brown

Out on the lone prairie

Where the skies are real know’d

And the wind blows free

An old cowpoke rode slowed

A lonesome coyote watched

The cowpoke goin by on his horse

Because out of the corral, the old nag

Always wandered waaayyy off course

To Alamo gulch they should-a-bin headin

The water hole at last roundup saloon

But they were noddin off on their feet

An it weren’t yet even high noon

But both were gittin real kina ancient

An liked to be losin their reckonin

So, a concerned lonesome coyote

Suggested a rein direction correctonin

The old nag nodded to the coyote

And afor either one had a stroke

He gave the ancient caballero

A ‘lets get redirected’ type poke

Finally staggering into the saloon

Barely makin it cross the sawdust floor

The Barkeep poured each a tall one

Putting an end to this old hombrein type lore

You have to sing ballads Dave like they did at court in medieval times. This would have gone down a treat. You are wasted, you should be a wandering minstrel :)
