The Maiden and the Stag

The Maiden and the Stag

A Chapter by Dave Brown
"

the curse

"

Between the great trees that shade

A maiden pon gentle, soft feet

Quietly upon her chosen quest

The great Stag, she comes to meet

This she knows is her destiny

Deep in the forest her lover awaits

The great Stag watches in anticipation

For resolution to their shared fates

A silken cape drapes her slender frame

Golden hair cascades loose behind

As would a grand Stallions full mane

Enhancing the eye in his mind

They meet through dappled light

She arcs back against the great Oak

He weaves his way to stand beside

Not a word from either being spoke

He bends before her onto his knees

Her tender touch, a love potion

She pulls him close and they caress

A tender moment, romance’s sweet lotion

Looking into each other’s eyes

She leans forward, pursing her lips

Then they caress as all lovers will

Through fabled journeys of dream lover’s trips

The Stag’s image becomes slowly blurred

In her arms, his shape is sent reeling

Until it is no longer a Stag she holds

But it’s her lost lover she is now feeling

Her beautiful young lover who was cursed

To live life as a forest Stag cast-away

Now rescued by magic from her sweet lips

Together down their forever pathway

But he dumped her only three years later

Another hot chic and he off together

This time she contacted a journeyman wizard

With a curse that would stick forever
