House Hunting

House Hunting

A Chapter by Dave Brown

fine fit

Sitting in the garden writing

What I thought was a poem

I was approached by a Towhee

Looking for a home

Intending to stay the winter

His concern was accommodation

For both he and his feathered mate

Thought to stay for the duration

I had built a lovely little house

With a lasting metal roof

And an opening door with hole for those

Who wished to live aloof

When they looked at me quite seriously

I thought it would nicely do

And when the three of us looked, we found

There was lotsa room for two

Since they’ve become the perfect tenants

We’ve signed a long-term lease renew

That they can both in comfort, soon produce

Another feathered flying crew

This is a wonderful story told in fun rhyme and I think it's adorable.
I'm starting to become a bird lover now that I'm slowing down a bit.
I find myself taking things in more. So wonderful of you to give these guy a home.
