Flat Earth (either)

Flat Earth (either)

A Chapter by Dave Brown

velly velly underbelly

On an expedition to the

Flat world’s underside

Although this was the

First time we had tried

Reports indicated the undersurface

Was-a-bunch-a metal tree roots

Meaning we would have to look at

Various climbing attributes

And for hanging upside down

We’d likely need magnetic hiking boots

Over the edge with rope ladders

Might just be apropos

Or maybe down a dormant volcano’s

Great big open hole

But after little Jimmy mentioned that

His father had a backhoe

Opinion after opinion

Was heard to endless flow

Leading to so much arguing that

We decided not to go

Later, I read in a newspaper

That the earth was actually round

This apparently was what some guy

Named Christopher Columbus had found

So, now instead of exploring

We just mostly bum around

But, since trusting newspapers

Is risky, is what I have found

Late each night I am

Still digging straight on down
