Fair Maiden in Duress

Fair Maiden in Duress

A Chapter by Dave Brown

Such fair maiden sent to tower cell

Save me, save me, her wretched yell

Had been cursed with evil spell

Soon her soul be sent to hell

T’was brave knight pon, war steed by

Did hear such maidens, mournful cry

Chivalry was his warrior creed

A musts response to desperate need

A silken scarf did flutter down

Caressed the helmet on Sir’s mighty crown

Fair maiden’s perfume was its scent

To seek his aid was her intent

He of noble birth and breed

His to champion fair maid’s need

Thusly urged on, he so nobly pedigreed

To’ard stone castle did proceed

With visor up to shout demand

His to save fair maidens hand

But when maidens hand did, beside him land

He thus chose to cease such noble stand

What use to him a one-handed lass

Pon this rescue, he would justs pass

He spun his armored war horse round

And carried on, out of town
