Failing Follicles

Failing Follicles

A Chapter by Dave Brown

On the top of the back of my head

There is an area there puts me in dread

That no barber or hairstylist can address

The beginning of a beingthereless process

It’s rawhide there now, where once hair did reside

For each failin follicle, I sobbed and I cried

All signs of re-growth have been cruelly denied

But thanks be to the few, still seated a-side

It is a hat now where used to be, my wayward wanasee

And I‘m hopin some survivors‘ll come back to me

But when stars at night come out, glowing all bright

I’m always able to reflect on that high-de-sky sight

Tho’ that bare patch left there is sorta new, it’s true

There is no need for a sympathetic review

Cuz one day this bare-headed view

Could come to a body near U
