Through the Valley

Through the Valley

A Chapter by Dave Brown
"

Where the river runs through the valley

Went I and the girl, I adore

Where the soft sky meets river water

We lay together on the near shore

We melted into each other’s arms

While river’s waters flowed by

And the feeling that flowed from each

We would never deny

The day too short or we loved too long

For darkness still found us together

But no matter what time of day

Her love was the tenderest tether

The weather turned, getting cold

And it started heavily raining

Heavier and heavier it came down

Soon the river’s water was gaining

It breached the bank and took us

Both being carried far downstream

And as we were both pulled under

It was the end of our dream

First all black but then, so bright

As though floating on a breeze

The feelings we were both sharing

Nothing could more gently appease

They mourned when they found us

This we could both see from above

Be we are now endlessly together

I and my forever love
