Wandering Wisteria

Wandering Wisteria

A Chapter by Dave Brown
"

yes

"

Wisteria wanders wantonly

Above trellis and sagging roof

Weaving throughout tall Cedar

Standing stoic and aloof

Where a nest of Towhee

Are dry and waterproof

Tall evergreen

Which wear this colored crown

of pink and purple too

Are also decorated fancily

In ‘Lawrence’s pale blue

What evergreen ever seen

Is so richly dressed

Where wonderous Wisteria flow

As though were heaven blessed

Yet in their nest

Where, with brightest colors

That they share

The Towhee, appear to be

Completely unaware

I love the evergreen trees. They grow so damn fast Dave. I liked the underlying story you whispered in the poetry. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry. I enjoyed this one.

Great work! I absolutely love the wordplay. This made me want to look up the Towhee and do some research on birds. Here's what I found interesting, maybe even inspiring?
"A new study, published this month in the journal Behavioral Ecology, finds that birds not only can see more colors than they have in their plumage, because of additional color cones in their retina that are sensitive to ultraviolet range, but they also see colors that are invisible to humans."

Holy moley! This is top-notch word crafting, my friend. You are giving Richard (the classic cafe poet) a run for his money! I love your imagery & the way the word flow feels like what you're describing (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Beautiful. Just beautiful.
And TREES!
thats like landing on triple word score!

Seriously, nicely done. it reads like a rocky little brook, bouncy and flowing. Almost delicate, if not for the sheer volume of water it pushes. Which you might not expect, until you were ankle deep in it already.

those boisterous towhee are so ungrateful but i think it has more to do with the constant arguing they do always so preoccupied with bush politics to see whats right in front of there beaks:)

Lovely to visualize. I'll be googling it for sure. Awesome that we don't often realize what beauty surrounds us.
