Slow Motion

Slow Motion

A Chapter by Dave Brown

A muted horn's sound softly sifted

Through the smoke hazed room

The dance floor all in slow motion

In a hazy alcoholic perfume

The beat was quietly gentle

More like a lover's soft sigh

She wrapped herself all round him

That there’d be no goodbye

In the dim light they faded

Slowly dancing off into night

I sipped my martini

And watched them fade out of sight

I'm trying to practice slow motion. I have a bad habit of zooming around the ether in double- and triple-time. Your poem reminds me how much nicer life/love can be if sipped in a leisurely way (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Grab a martini and smoozle in with the doggies
something - a dark loving scene - i watch throu' words.. started w/ love & desire; gets ended up w/ something wholehearted... & memorable...

also, a great picturized rhyme here.. looking forward to reading your work.
