Monster Mash

Monster Mash

A Chapter by Dave Brown

Super computer, libraried Halloween stories

The good ones, bad ones and the real gories

Had an app malfunction, until on its screen

It displayed (VDO) gore of a Vampire’s Halloween

The application hardware, formulated homepage

Suffered a malware programmed network rampage

Mainframe applications recomputed pure joy

Into a processing protocol, hot-wired to destroy

Vampires world over were logged-in to laptops

Hyperlinking dissections of reaped human crops

As a domain flowchart gave a database view

Of how to discombobulate each victim in two

A superbug had processed a dot matrix reboot

Re-encrypting each database algorithm’s square root

Which is why computers, when downloading ‘Monster Mash’

All suffer a Halloween, an anti-viral conkabitegigabash

It's nice to see something both timely and amusing at Halloween.

Yes, they should. I agree wholeheartedly!
Don't you EVER give me CRAP again about my use of big words! This proves you not only use 'em, but you man-handle them into barbaric jousts of Halloween hilarity! So there! For a micro-second, I was picturing you as a high-def purveyor of digital delights, but then I remembered you're Yeti's cousin stuck in some damp airless NW forest . . . "old growth" . . . that's how I think of you! But this is a remarkable surge into youthful modernity for an old codger like you! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I have left a poetic (?) response to this snippy comment about my age
