A Chapter by Dave Brown

The crypt entrance

Was covered in weed

The crypt doorstep

Stained by old bleed

Inside the chamber,

Intent on a foul deed

Human flesh now

His greatest need

Saliva covering his sickly chin

Salivating bout tasting

Sweet human skin

Starved for twelve months

He’d become extra thin

And now thinking

About human chompin

Had his crooked green fangs

Forming a sick grin

So very black that

He couldn’t see

He staggered to the door slab

Crawling cross on one knee

But being too weak

To lift his skeleton key

It ended any intended

Human eating spree

With him disappearing

Into obscurity

Definitely one of your best efforts for crafting rhyme & rhythm! I love how you describe stuff as very yukky, but then once in a while you throw in something a little funny (like "crooked green fangs") which breaks the serious tenor of your ghoulishness (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
