Tuffet Troubles

Tuffet Troubles

A Chapter by Dave Brown
"

When little Miss Muffet

Looked for her tuffet

She found it had been removed

With all the king’s horses

And all the king’s men

Saying this had been approved

By Old King Cole

Who, being a merry old soul

On most every day

Was heard to say

On this day, he would have his way

Because of his passion for curds and whey

And because she moaned and wailed

The old King had Miss Muffet jailed

Her trial was scheduled for a day in May

And she was dammed

If he would get his way

When Parliament convened a week away

Her father, the Prime Minister

Expressed the affair, exceptionally sinister

And when Lords and labour couldn’t agree

He sent the case across the sea

To the grand chief of the First Nation

That he could interject some arbitration

She was appointed hereditary chief

Straightaway

Which included a lifetime supply

Of curds and whey

Furthermore, a delegation

Was dispatched from that first nation

To free Miss Muffet and inform the merry old soul

That as far as they were concerned

Re; the situation about the tuffet

They, midst the sound of beating drums

And the chant of the tribal Shaman

Agreed with Miss Muffet

In telling the greedy, merry old soul

Where he could stuff-it

This is a hilarious spoof on how cumbersome bureaucracy can be. Regardless of whatever country one is from, your message rings with universal truth. I love how you tie in a few different nursery rhymes, as if to suggest this is child's play, so how do they make it so multi-layered & complex? Nicely biting satire wrapped up in fun (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

This is brilliant Dave. I've done the same thing with 'To a mouse' so I know how hard it is. You've crammed so much into this wee gem.
Hope you at making the best of all this muddle.
Cheers,
Alan

I sggest Miss Muffet apply for citizenship of the first nation. They seem like a very caring bunch and a good supply of tuffets will be hers and endless spiders. Electric chair for the old bully!

:)))))))))))))))) justice prevails
He could stuff it or fiddle with it as he liked. His fiddlers would help. I'm glad Miss Muffet was rescued from this sadist. I hope her spider bites him.

it is said that her spider has never denied'er so that may well come to pass
I think I like this Grand Chief of the First Nation. As for Miss Moffet's world of trouble, I'm sure that darned spider was behind it. Probably bribed the ol' King, I imagine. This is a fun one, Dave.
