Eagle Eyes

Eagle Eyes

A Chapter by Dave Brown

As night yields to new day

A shadow crosses neath sun

On the wide wings of a majestic

The fate of prey has begun

Eagle eyes guide his flight

As he drinks freedom’s breath

Where life yawn’s unaware

He brings certain death

For it is death gives him life

The squirrel climbing a tree

The rabbit in the undergrowth

These let him live free

Morning’s duck on the foreshore

Unguarded chicks in a nest

A mouse in a meadow

All these he will test

From the tallest of old growth

Or the craggiest cliff’s height

To survey all beneath

Is the great Eagle’s birthright

The eagle are cool. Here in Michigan. Planted the Eagle to keep the small animals life less. I like to see them in the sky. Powerful and beautiful. They are. Thank you my friend for sharing the amazing chapter.
