The morning dawned brightly

Well, not quite I fear

Snow was falling

First of the year

 

It did add some color

To fall’s red yellow and green

Which now looks adorned

With scoops of whip cream

 

If winter must come

At least it will flirt

With the consoling concept

Of a dazzling dessert

Most delicious part -- scoops of whipped cream. I'm wondering if you really mean "desert" . . . or possibly "dessert"? It could go either way, but that bowl of red, yellow, green with cream makes me think "dessert". Also, I find it weird how autumn gets mashed into the first of the year. By Jan, around here I'm thinking springtime big time! With as little evidence of winter as we've had so far, I suspect we'll be sunbathing by January (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

whipped cream with sprinkles of mother nature's zaniness. we got about 3 inches of snow day before halloween. colored leaves still hanging on the trees. now this week we're wearing shorts again in the 70's. pleasantly spun - was expecting a different kind of flirt when i saw the title ... :)
