A Chapter by Dave Brown

To any jail, the Zebra is a kin

The bars are blended right into his skin

Were he a great ape

He’d possibly escape

Only he faces this kind of chagrin

This is taking the limerick genre way outside the bars. I almost didn't recognize a limerick at first. I thought this might be a wild-west-behind-bars genre of some sort . . . invented by you, of course . . . all your weird twisted genres are far beyond the old way we used to think about genres. No, you have permanently stretched the established list of literary "genres." You've established yourself to be well beyond the genre. That's a huge accomplishment! Damn I wanna write a limerick bad (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
