The Appointment

The Appointment

A Chapter by Dave Brown
"

"

The Doctor’s office phoned

About a rescheduled appointment

Apparently concerned about my eyesight

Off to his office I went

Driving down his office road

For some reason things looked changed

As if that whole side of town

Had been completely rearranged

Flagging down a pedestrian

I inquired about the location

Unfortunately, it was a traffic cop I’d stopped

Who gave me a middle of the road citation

Then he impounded my vehicle

When he saw I was basically blind

I never did get to that appointment

I hope they didn’t mind

I'm amazed that cop didn't suspend this guy's license indefinitely! I'm assuming this couldn't possibly be autobiographical becuz this poem describes a feeble doddering octogenarian not the spry Yeti from the deep BC woods that I know & love! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

PS -- I don't see any other "new" poems posted on your wall & I'm not sure where to find stuff that anyone has posted under "mature" . . .
