Riding Rockets

Riding Rockets

A Chapter by Dave Brown

Rudolph, counting pennies since Santa’s Last flight

Had financial worries, night after night

There was the mortgage and utilities to pay

And fast-food bills, day after day

His night school diploma now had him in doubt

Only one yearly pay day for all that flying about

Evermore thinking an illuminated red proboscis

Shouldn’t be just tossed under the buscis

But the thingy in his head, that little voice

Couldn’t decide on any other career type choice

Then whilst moaning and regurgitating slang

He was suddenly startled as his telephone rang

It was Elton Musk from the space agency

Ready for a Mars blast-off but unable to see

Faced with excess incondisseethroughisable dust

The launchy thingy could be a huge bust

Rudolph now rides at the tip of each rocket

His dust penetration’s put big bucks in his pocket

He still helps Santa, specially on foggy day’s

Cuz Santa’s agreed to give him a decent raise

Great fun Dave and I immediately tried to sing it to jingle bells. This is definitely one that deserves the humerous approach and you have hit the funny bone with Rudolphs adventures.
I hope you enjoy Christmas and don't worry about Rudolph!
all the best,

Dave, you are the most shameless rhymer since Roger Miller ("Roses are red, violets are purple, sugar's sweet, and so's maple surple."). Don't even get me started on "incondisseethroughisable."
