Milk and Eggs

Milk and Eggs

A Chapter by Dave Brown

We've often stopped at a kangaroo shop

And watched her little ones in her pouch

But they were always bounced around

And the first word they learned was ‘ouch’

Then with shopping becoming more difficult

We purchased a platypus pet

She’s able to supply us with both milk and eggs

And we haven’t run out of either yet

We also have a little pet frog

Which we thought had real class

But he is very difficult to see

because he's as transparent as glass

The Kookaburra in our backyard gum tree

Thought this was the funniest thing

Which caused him to laugh and laugh

Because he’d never learned how to sing

We then hired a Wombat to build an outhouse

Both he and his house building crew

The material they used was quite apropos

It being built with blocks of their cube poo

This structure was quite easily seen

Although it took bout a day and a half

To climb up to the top of

The neck of the neighborhood giraffe

But, we've noticed driving cars is an issue

That has Limeys and Aussies cockeyed

And things will probably remain that way

Until they drive back on the right side

I want to go to the world you describe, since none of your characters seem to bother with masks & other protective measures. Used to be, I regarded you as highly-imaginative becuz your storylines are so outlandish. But now I find you imaginative for being able to write such a poem without one single mention of covid or politics. You must've been channeling the good ole days when you wrote this! Here you are, with nary a covid care in your poems while I'm plagued by Super Gonorrhea! To be able to levitate to where you are would be a poetic goal of mine (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

The Alabama pedestrian is unsafe in London town. Being cautioned not to cross a busy street before looking left then right then left again will get you killed by habit.
