A Chapter by Dave Brown

There is an increased reflection

From the top of my head

With what used to be hair

Being continually shed

This reflection of manhood

Doesn’t reflect specially well

With it having decided

To up on there, no longer dwell

However ‘Hairclub for men’

Has advertised abita halp

For shiny heads such as mine

They will re-rug the scalp

As I waited, expectantly seated

With my bare scalp at the fore

The nice lady carried a complete head

With thick, black hair, through the door

Its eyes were still blinking

With a pleasant smile still in place

But it was Eurasian and I Caucasian

Couldn’t see his hair matching my face

Five heads later and no success

I decided that bald’s not really so bad

In fact, my recent no rug, scalp look

Might just start a new bald headed fad

The best part of your poem is the "reflection" opening. You really played that "reflection" idea to the hilt, with excellent effect. I also have a big reflection shining thru on one side only, the side where I habitually sleep. I could roll over & try to wear off some hair on the other side, but then I'd be breathing dog breath all night. Anyhow, have you ever seen an implant of hair plugs up close? It's the kind of ugly that makes us embrace our baldness (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Oh silly Dave, we don't need hair anymore that's for wimps! we aren't afraid of exposure, nothing to hide under here I always say when I lift my fedora and reveal my shining scalp beaming with poetic effulgence! or maybe it's just empty the contents of my scalp that is... hmm still working on it!
