Chop em' Down

Chop em' Down

A Chapter by Dave Brown

With the demise of the Buffalo

Now mankind looks for another target

It matters not about the environment

As long as it sells on the market

Trees are something defenseless

And make a swell crash when they fall

Especially threatened, huge old growth

But who cares, cut down one and all

After all, tall trees block out the sun

Birds litter them with messy nests

And the many animals living among

Are no more than damn pests

Too many are willingly complicit

In slaughtering our precious trees

It is well past realizing that developers

Are not all there is to please

I have just written a piece about how developers have demolished a small patch of trees near where I live. I don't think they'll be happy until every green space is covered with concrete or asphalt.

Thankyou John
They need all the support they can get
I've never lost a tree I didn't miss. Tornadoes, lightning, progress all contrive to mess with my pals. Perhaps we should fly the flag at half staff on Arbor Day?

Thanks for sharing
