Goodbyes

Goodbyes

A Chapter by Dave Brown
"

Ranging robins regarding red roses

In gardens where displaying their poses

Handsome hummers halting in flight

At bursting blossoms billowing bright

Cheeky chickadees chattering delight

While hooting owls haunt through night

All celebrating the site of a bud

On a branch to soon host a flood

On a tree in the garden of life

On a pathway from winter's strife

A raindrop slips into a field

More drops follow until comes the yield

Stalks stretch upward, blossoms burst

All have been waiting, the longest thirst

The sun’s light brightens, each daily rise

Time for black winter to say its goodbyes

Yes, it's about time old man winter took his leave. There is plenty of spring promise here. Don't you just love it when those birdies are busy building nests and planning their offspring. Good afternoon Dave.

Yes, the equinox is upon us! Signs of new life are indeed appearing, but I am still having to sit in front of a fire, aware Old Man Winter is making a fighting retreat. Very nice springlike I'mages here, Dave. My God, can it be warmer in Canada than it is here?

Seeing signs of renewal in nature is magical.
Your poem, with its vivid images, is a worthy ode to spring.
