A Chapter by Dave Brown

A host of recent visitors

Have taken interest in our fields

Off wing with head’s a-bobbin

Constantly collecting daily yields

Always a something I keenly look for

Not so for the resident crew

With their homes in the damp soil

Many end up as bird chew

The sight of an industrious Robin

Fully stretching a worm

Sustenance for the winged one

For the other, end of the squirm

But the Swallow is our assurance

That Spring will arrive

And no matter what Man does to Mankind

It is essential that God’s Swallow’s survive

I love how you related faith with a swallow and how the worms ending is the Robin’s substance that fills it belly keeping it from starving.

Without faith in God our spirit would starve. Great thought provoking write you have penned here.
