Upon a Stump

Upon a Stump

A Chapter by Dave Brown

Upon an ancient stump

In a garden’s quiet corner

A princess carved with care

Dressed in mossy fabric wear

Longside cherries and wild berries

And hedges built with laurel

Where spring’s bird’s invest in nest

And squirrels dart and dabble

Neath fragile palmated leaves

Twisting in spring’s light breeze

Where decorated randomly

By shafts of warming sun

Carved by a master

Set in place by loving hands

Where she sits through seasons

Watching over garden’s growth

Beautifully rendered Dave. I felt as though I were a part of a newly written fairy tale. Very nice! ~Sharon
