Meant for Each Other

Meant for Each Other

A Chapter by Dave Brown

We met while passing through woods

Our eyes locking as one

Large branches stretching out

Sprinkled her with morn’s warming sun

Light clouds watched from above

Allowing sun’s light to pass gently through

The morning was still young round us

The scene seemed like sweet deja vu

When we left that place, we parted

She back to the life she knew

And I back aimlessly through woods

Neath skies that now seemed faded blue

I saw her again a week later

This time at the top of a tree

It was obvious we were meant for each other

When she dropped a pine cone down to me

We are now glued to each other

Living our lives mongst the trees

And except for being aware of the Owl

We are both free to do as we please

This must be a vignette about squirrels or chipmunks . . . to whom a pinecone projectile would be a sign of irresistible affection. Thank you for always dropping your nutty pinecones of delight down upon us here at the cafe (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

it is indeed a tail tale of which you avail
Really liked this poem. When we get to the 2nd to last stanza and see who "she" is! I like the appreciation of the woods, also nice flow to the lines and good use of rhyme.
