The Zoo

The Zoo

A Chapter by Dave Brown
"

"

When Lou met Sue, they built a zoo

Taking in animals, old and new

Those with a mew and those with a moo

In a year or two, there was a true-zoo crew

They had Lions and Tigers and Kangaroo

They had Cockatoo and huge Elephants too

But they could only attract one Jackeramoo

Meaning they had more zoo'n to do

After red tape, they’d had to get through

To Katmandoo, both gumshoed to pursue

The very rarest of the rarest they knew

The male Jackeramoo, with its forehead tatoo

Rendezvousing over a brew in an interview

Showed a snap shot of shapely Jackeramoo Sue

Overcome by her gorgeous peacock blue

Overdue, the zoo welcomed new Jackeramoo Hugh

When zoo folks now gather around to view

Tho’ wanting to see the famed Jackeramoo hairdo

Lately the thing that’s created the most hullabaloo

Is baby Tutu Jackeroo, making her the zoo’s third one

It seems there is always a new animals popping up somewhere around the world. How nice it would be to see one up close without intrusion.

Nicely and humorously done, Dave. :)

I understand they R always happy!
Simply adore this Zoo Tale…
I grew up in Takoma Park, Maryland
… on the Border of the Washington National Zoo and our house in Maryland. Our family and friends spent many days at the very large Zoo.
The Gorilla and myself “Bonded” with Bars between us. We fed the Elephants Peanuts
and we loved the Bird House as well as the Seals in their Pond in the Summer. tenderly, Pat
