Up In Smoke

Up In Smoke

A Chapter by Dave Brown

The sun came up this morning

But was kina hard to see

With smoke from burning forests

Coating hill and valley

Homes and towns evacuated

As flames roam far and wide

Tho' choppers assist ground crews

Flames are not denied

An intense heat dome covers all

Sucking life from all below

The result of global warming

Mankind’s stupidity, the ammo

Towns burned to the ground

Rivers, wells dry, lives lost

But big business must have profit

No matter what the cost
