Synapse

Synapse

A Poem by Samantha Altrosse
"

What happens around the world during a synapse?

"

Synapse

Neuron fires

New neuron recieves

A child dies

In front of his mother's eyes

Water hits the lips of the tortured man

Freedom given to a prisoner

Gunshots fired

Funeral somewhere

Someone in a mall

Bite of a pit bull

Table tennis ball hit
Iron cross hangs

Pope at the Vatican

Bookshelf assembled

Class in session

Cow bells ring

Sleigh bells put away

Harness the horses

Empty picture frame

Target practice

Clothing

Blood on the ground

Man with a knife

Police arrest

Carpet laid

Oliver Twist picked up

College textbook opened

New plane of reality

Quantum theory further researched

Paint put on a new wall

Windowpanes

Door locks

Door unlocked

Big black table

Tree falls

Synapse.

All of these have a link. Some are obvious and some require a long thought process, but each line has a tie to the line before it and the line after it.
