The Philosophy of Me

The Philosophy of Me

A Poem by Kim Possible

My philosophy is deeper than thought could be
It reaches a point of no return
Curves around Saturn and is back to create confusion
The profound anatomy that completes my being
is excuse enough for why I change like the seasons
Excuse enough for why my secret liaisons with this thing
called gifted
I'm gifted and gifted until finally I'm lifted above all else
Up again to Saturn and curved again
I'm so twisted
How I'm doing this I do not know
It only happens when I totally let go
Go of the things that eternally constrain
Until I am lifted up to Saturn again
and I sit there uplifted as the world spins
Spins into something that, without me, can live
My words are sacred
They help me express myself in a way that reveals
who and what I am
then leaves me naked
Exposed
Open to the perils that are clear
and ones I have yet to behold
Ones that will test my integrity to a locality
that will either welcome or condemn me
That will either kill or weaken me
I am left with scars in the shapes of words
that haven’t broken my bones
but instead are an interminable suggestion of
the life I led before my flaws were known
My philosophy is deeper than thought could perceive
My mind is constantly alert
therefore it constantly grieves
I may choose to give certain things my eye
but the state of the world implores
It hopes for the day that someone brave will explore
Explore it's under workings and it's hidden obsessions
Hoping to make known its true confessions
But for now the world's just like me
Hurting and crying secretly
